The new Rogers rate, available only for subscribers who activate their phones before Aug. 31, is $30 a month for a six-gigabyte data plan that can be added to new or existing voice plans with Rogers — but only if they sign up for a three-year contract. Rogers is also limiting sales to two phones per customer.
Just a few days after its launch, a group from Brazil has managed to unlock Apple’s iPhone 3G to operate on almost any GSM carrier.
On its Web site, DesbloqueioBr posted a video showing the unlocked handset making a phone call.
A data-only offering of 6GB of data for $30 per can be added to any in-market voice plan. According to Rogers, those extra 6GB mean you can visit 35,952 web pages, or send and receive 157,286 emails, or watch 6,292 minutes of YouTube videos each and every month.
